Personal Membership

To qualify for a personal Zipcar membership, you must meet the requirements of one of the groups below.

Students, Faculty & Staff under 21

You must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid driver’s license and have been licensed for at least one year (domestic and international driver’s licenses are both eligible)
  • Have no more than one moving violation in the past 24 months
  • Have no alcohol related violations

    Students, Faculty & Staff 21 and over

    You must:
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have a valid driver’s license and have been licensed for at least one year (domestic and international driver’s licenses are both eligible)
  • Have had no more than two “incidents” (moving violations PLUS accidents) in the past three years and no more than one incident in the past 18 months
  • Have no major violations in the past three years
  • Have no alcohol related violations in the past seven years
