DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring talk with WSU alumnus Tyrre Burks ’10\, founder and CEO of Players Health. \n\n\n\nFrom student to CEO\, Tyrre will share his successes\, his setbacks\, and how you can use your own Winona State experience to build the career you’ve always dreamed of. \n\n\n\nThis event is sponsored by the College of Business. \n\n\n\n\n\n    \n        \n            \n                        \n            \n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\n\nTyrre Burks was born and raised in the south side of Chicago\, where his love of sports began. Tyrre came to Winona State University for his studies and to play collegiate football\, where he excelled as a wide receiver until his graduation in 2010. \n\n\n\nFrom athlete to entrepreneur\, Tyrre was motivated to found Players Health\, a company designed to protect the well-being of young athletes. Players Health provides risk training\, insurance\, and safety solutions to sports organizations to help manage risk and create a safer environment for young athletes. \n\n\n\nIn 2021\, Players Health sold $7 million in insurance policies; in 2024\, it topped $40 million. Already one of the top 10 providers of youth sports insurance\, Players Health serves 60% of U.S. youth soccer teams and more than 50\,000 teams across sports in North America.
