DESCRIPTION:Winona State’s Office of Equity & Inclusive Excellence is partnering with the Honoring Dakota Project to offer a collaborative learning experience. This cultural competence training is about Dakota history\, advocacy\, and shared perspectives. \n\n\n\nPlease note that in-person participants are expected to attend the full 3-hour session. DESCRIPTION:Spend the evening with Giiwedin\, an Ojibwe Two-Spirit influencer and environmental advocate\, as they discuss what it means to be Two-Spirit. \n\n\n\nThis event is sponsored by Winona State’s Indigenous Relations\, Education\, & Programming Committee. \n\n\n\nThis event is also open to everyone\, in person and via Zoom. Registration for the Zoom meeting is required. \n\n\n\n    Register for This Zoom Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n    \n        \n            \n                        \n            \n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\n\nGiiwedin (they/them) is an Ojibwe Two-Spirit influencer and environmental advocate who shares content about Indigenous culture\, environmental justice\, and queer Indigenous history. \n\n\n\nTheir primary Instagram account (@giiwedinindizhinikaaz) has more than 200\,000 followers. In 2022\, they were recognized as a “20 Under 20 LGBTQ+ Changemaker” by Teen Vogue and The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). \n\n\n\nGiiwedin also models in the Native fashion world\, walking in Native Fashion Week in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, and the first Indigenous New York Fashion Week. \n\n\n\nIn addition to their online work\, Giiwedin advocates for the health of wild rice.
