SUMMARY:"PASSAGE(s)" Design Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Winona State’s Art & Design Department presents PASSAGE(s)\, an exhibition by Dr. Danilo Lj. Bojić. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition will transform the Paul Watkins Gallery into an immersive environment where typography\, space\, and narrative intersect to explore life experiences. \n\n\n\nDrawing from personal and collective memory\, PASSAGE(s) examines how meaning is constructed through moments\, transitions\, and emotional impressions over time. It invites viewers to reflect on questions of identity\, perception\, and the role of memory in shaping human experience. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition also includes an interactive element\, where visitors can contribute a memory or keyword tied to a specific age. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. \n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\nContact\n\n\n\n\n\nDisclaimer\n\n\n\nThe views and opinions expressed by the speakers and programs hosted at Winona State University do not necessarily reflect the views or positions of the university or of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system.

SUMMARY:"Berlin: Shifting the Paradigm" Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Paul Watkins Art Gallery will host an exhibition by Winona State students who attended the “Berlin: Shifting the Paradigm” faculty-led travel study program. \n\n\n\nThis exhibition investigates the visual messaging that shaped Berlin before and after the Nazi regime\, offering a critique of systemic oppression. \n\n\n\nBerlin was selected for not only its enduring architecture and art\, but also its reflection on a culture molded by war\, fascism\, and communism. Through these lenses\, the exhibition examines Central Europe’s cultural\, social\, and artistic achievements as well as humanity’s ability to overcome tragedy. \n\n\n\nFor this showcase\, student groups were asked to interpret the meaning of a “reflective piece” and to create original collaborative works inspired by Berlin’s history\, art\, and architecture. Each project captures personal responses to a city defined by resilience\, complexity\, and renewal. \n\n\n\nThis exhibition is free and open to the public Monday-Friday. \n\n\n\n\n\nStudent Artists\n\n\n\n\nEzri Bratrud ’27\n\n\n\nAlison Buck ’26\n\n\n\nMeghan Cooper ’25\n\n\n\nIzanelle Hucker ’27\n\n\n\nKira Kainz ’26\n\n\n\nMaya Lauderdale ’27\n\n\n\nSadie Marks ’26\n\n\n\nThea McAdams ’26\n\n\n\nCherlin Miguel Almengor ’27\n\n\n\nKaia Peterson ’25\n\n\n\nMichell Stauber ’27\n\n\n\n\nFaculty & Staff Curators\n\n\n\n\nDr. Danilo Lj. SUMMARY:"Retrack" Watkins Gallery Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:From Jan. 13-Feb. 13\, the Watkins Gallery will host the exhibition “Retrack\,” by artists Dana Potter and Alex McKenzie. \n\n\n\n“Retrack” is an immersive installation that uses augmented reality\, sound\, printmaking\, cyanotypes\, and multi-channel projection. \n\n\n\nLike a clock visits and revisits the hours\, the same symbols pass by again and again. A repetition of sounds rise and fall\, 3D objects sway in and out\, particles generate and oscillate. \n\n\n\n“Retrack” invites viewers to consider repetition as both a constant and a means for change. Within the installation’s collage of various media\, the work also asks important questions about the quickly-evolving relationship between traditional visual art disciplines like printmaking and new media such as augmented reality. \n\n\n\nThis exhibition is free and open to the public. \n\n\n\n\n\nVenue\n\n\n\n\n\nContact
