Pianist Eric Brisson holds a Doctorate degree in piano performance from the University of Montr\u00e9al (2000), where he studied with Marc Durand. He also has worked with Leon Fleisher and Marek Jablonski at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), where he was enrolled in a master class series (1991-1997).\u00a0He also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from McGill University, completed in 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Brisson has performed in Canada since 1989 and has been a laureate in several national-level music competitions, among others the Canadian Music Competition (first prize winner in 1991 and 1992) and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition (third prize winner, junior category, in 1991).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has performed as soloist with the Canadian Music Competition Orchestra and the Sherbrooke Youth Orchestra, and he has also performed numerous recitals in Montreal and Qu\u00e9bec City, some of them radio broadcasted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since moving to Winona in 2002, Dr. Brisson has been active both as recitalist and accompanist, and he has been soloist with the Winona Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Music Winona, and Winona State’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2018, he completed a decade-long personal project to learn and perform all of Claude Debussy\u2019s solo piano music on the Winona State campus. He is also employed as organist\/pianist at Wesley United Methodist Church in Winona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
