WSU\u2019s Recreation, Tourism & Therapeutic Recreation Department not only gives students a high-quality education, but also an on-campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With nearly 210 Recreation studies programs across the nation, WSU\u2019s RTTR program was ranked 13th best value bachelor\u2019s degree in parks, recreation, and leisure<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RTTR department offers 2 bachelor degree programs<\/a>: Recreation and Tourism, and Therapeutic Recreation.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Designed opportunities giving people the freedom to select and pursue experiences and activities during their free time, with the hope of eliciting positive emotions. <\/p>\n

This allows people to “re-create” themselves, feeling renewed and ready to take on their daily responsibilities, whatever they may be.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Traveling to and staying in places outside a person\u2019s usual environment for home leisure, business, and other purposes. <\/p>\n

Recreational Therapy<\/div>\n

The American Therapeutic Recreation Association defines as recreational therapy as \u201ca systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with illnesses and\/or disabling conditions, as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
