Pre-nursing students are welcome and encouraged to join this pre-professional organization for nursing students.<\/p>\n<p>Contact the Nursing Department to learn more.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Pre-Nursing Club<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>This new club is a social support system for pre-nursing students before they are admitted to the undergraduate nursing program.<\/p>\n<p>This club will provide the necessary information and resources to be a successful pre-nursing student, while also collaborating with the Undergraduate Pre-Licensure Nursing Club.<\/p>\n<p>All pre-nursing (PNDA &amp; Scholarships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/financial-aid\/cost\/undergraduate-tuition\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/financial-aid\/cost\/undergraduate-tuition\/\">undergraduate tuition and fees<\/a>, students in the Pre-Licensure Nursing Program have program-specific fees such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transportation to and from clinical experiences&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scrubs for clinicals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stethoscope&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Differential tuition for nursing credits (about $42 per credit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Books and materials (print and electronic) are quite expensive \u2013especially in Term 1 and Term 3 (about $1,500 for each of these semesters)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The list is intended to provide an estimate to help you plan your college budget. It does not include all possible additional costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-block tabs\">\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-nav\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-1\">WSU Foundation Scholarships<\/button>\n<button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-2\">Biel Leadership Fellowship <\/button>\n<button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-3\">Outside Scholarships<\/button>\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-content\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">WSU Foundation Scholarships<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>In addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/financial-aid\/paying-for-college\/scholarships\/\">general scholarships<\/a>\u00a0at WSU, students in the nursing programs can apply for many scholarships from the WSU Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Apply for <a href=\"https:\/\/winona.academicworks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WSU Foundation Scholarships<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement or financial need, which may require you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Biel Leadership Fellowship <\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>The\u00a0Biel Leadership Fellowship program provides a $1,500 scholarship and opportunities to learn about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>key leadership characteristics<\/li>\n<li>interdisciplinary collaboration<\/li>\n<li>current healthcare issues<\/li>\n<li>strategies that promote patient safety during and throughout patient transitions of care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students apply to become a Biel Fellow during the first semester of the pre-licensure BS nursing program.<\/p>\n<p>As a Biel Fellow, you will attend four one-credit seminars that are offered during Semesters 2, 3, and 4 of the undergraduate nursing program. The tuition and fees for these courses are paid for by the Biel Leadership Fellowship program.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a one-credit, 30-hour field experience during the May term.\u00a0Students are responsible for the cost of the May term field experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Biel Leadership Fellowship is provided by the generosity of WSU alumni Karen Biel.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Outside Scholarships<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>Individual benefactors, affiliating hospitals, and professional and community organizations also provide scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>Students are encouraged to contact agencies (hospitals, nursing homes, American Legion, VFW, etc.) in their hometowns about possible nursing scholarships.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n    <div class=\"panel panel--white\">\n        <div class=\"panel__container\">\n            <div class=\"panel__intro\">\n                        <\/div>\n            \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faculty Advisor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pre-nursing, Nursing and RN to BS students have access to faculty advisors to help them navigate the program and answer any questions.&nbsp;Your faculty advisor\u2019s name is shown on the top of your Degree Audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With your advisor, you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review your Degree Audit and plan your pre-requisite courses for nursing program admission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discuss dropping or withdrawing from a course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review nursing program graduation requirements and plan your upcoming courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete an Academic Warning meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Answer questions about clinical locations, schedules, and assignments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider study abroad and faculty-led travel program opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explore graduate schools and apply for jobs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn how to <a
