The department offers a variety of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/academics\/colleges\/science-engineering\/chemistry-department\/programs\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"12126\">majors and minors<\/a>&nbsp;in chemistry, biochemistry, chemistry teaching, physical science teaching, and environmental science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/academics\/colleges\/science-engineering\/chemistry-department\/faculty-staff\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"12210\">faculty members<\/a> are active research scientists and are committed to provide a quality undergraduate education in chemistry. Her students recently had fun showing off their sizzly skills on their recent class demonstrations.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Internships and research experiences&nbsp;for undergraduates (REUs) are available on campus alongside&nbsp;our chemistry faculty. Students can also find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/academics\/colleges\/science-engineering\/chemistry-department\/student-resources\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"12198\">opportunities to&nbsp;intern and research at other institutions<\/a>&nbsp;across the country all year-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the past three years, over&nbsp;90%&nbsp;of graduates in chemistry or biochemistry have been placed in&nbsp;careers&nbsp;or graduate schools shortly after graduation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have excellent&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/academics\/colleges\/science-engineering\/chemistry-department\/facilities-equipment\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"12207\">laboratory facilities<\/a>&nbsp;in Pasteur Hall and the Science Laboratory Center dedicated to teaching and research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our state-of-the-art instrumentation includes excellent IR, NMR, UV-vis, AA, and fluorescence spectrometers.
