externally-funded projects to researchers during the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Transmittal Process<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, researchers are responsible for understanding and complying with guidelines and requirements set by the granting agency as well as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/administration.winona.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WSU policy, procedures, and regulations<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Federal agencies may require assurances or certifications with a variety of regulations, such as lobbying, drug-free workplace, and executive compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grants and Sponsored Projects maintains registrations, assurances, and certifications with federal, state, and private submission and payment systems such as:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grants.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grants.gov<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a proposals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>award administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must have a unique identifier, known as an NSF ID, to apply for NSF awards.<\/p>\n\n\n<div a grant from NSF or the National Institute of Health (NIH) must be aware of WSU\u2019s <a <\/button>\n        <div class=\"accordion__content\">\n            <p>NSF proposals will include Intellectual Merit and Broader Impacts sections, which address unique contributions and cross-cutting outcomes in multiple fields.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals will also include Biographical Sketches of Personnel and Budget and Budget Justification sections.<\/p>\n<p>The budget must include details Opportunities that WSU investigators commonly seek are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/publications\/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=nsf22586\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CAREER<\/a>: The Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) supports faculty in a variety of fields who may serve as role models and pursue a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/publications\/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=nsf23510&amp;org=NSF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IUSE<\/a>: The Improving Undergraduate STEM Education Program (IUSE) accelerates undergraduate education in all STEM fields. IUSE has an Engaged Student Learning track and an Institutional and Community Transformation track.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative Research: Collaborative proposals include investigators from two or more organizations working on a unified project. These can be submitted as a single proposal by a lead institution, which issues sub-awards to one or more collaborators, or as simultaneous submissions by two or more lead institutions requesting separate awards.
