As a Communication & Media student, you\u2019ll take most of your classes in the Performing Arts Center<\/a> or in Phelps Hall<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our department has a variety of unique learning spaces and production facilities for you to work in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These areas include high-tech equipment for teaching, small-group work, and media production, as well as comfortable lounges for doing homework, socializing, or relaxing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interactive Media Lab<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Creative Digital Media students have access to our \u201cmad scientist\u201d interactive media art lab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, you can experiment with interactive installation, projection-based projects, haptic media, and other forms of digital communication.  <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Multimedia Studio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Multimedia Studio is a 2-story facility that\u2019s set up for multiple disciplines, including video, digital photography, and production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This studio also has a window for students passing by to look through and see what their peers are working on.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Phelps 101<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Phelps 101 is a high-tech classroom specially designed for media collaboration and exploration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students can share their ideas, mockups, websites, and document files with one another or the entire classroom with simple drag-and-drop from their personal laptops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group members can even share control of laptops to simplify demonstrations and troubleshooting.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Photo Studio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a full photographic studio equipped with a variety of lighting, light control accessories, and rigging.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students in photography courses have full access to this studio for their individual and group projects. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Photography Lab & Darkroom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students taking photography and digital imaging courses have access to this space to produce film using our Beseler enlargers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This space is also for advanced photo classes to process film, print photographs, and mount them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You might even find yourself using our quality archival printing equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Radio Station<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Want to be on the radio? Check out our own student station, KQAL<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our on-campus radio station allows students of any major to get hands-on experience working with an array of musical genres, promotions, and topics like news and sports. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

Reading Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re looking for a quiet space, the Reading Room is your destination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This room houses 1,400 media-related books, which is perfect for anyone starting their research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also host meetings or work with a small group for upcoming class assignments and projects in this room. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
