That\u2019s why all students in our department are required to complete an internship as part of their curriculum.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Internships will give you professional experience before you graduate, making sure you will be prepared for the professional world when you begin your career.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Internships give you the chance to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>explore a particular field or occupation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>explore different roles and relationships within an organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>apply and expand upon knowledge and skills learned in the classroom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>help an organization meet its goals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop professional relationships&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>work toward obtaining professional employment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criminal Justice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One way to find internships is through the annual internship fair. Every fall semester, the department hosts a career fair on campus. This gives student the opportunity to connect with dozens of organizations and employers about internships and careers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Internships must be at least 1 semester long, and may be 1-12 credits depending on your education path.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact your major advisor or Department Chair Mark Norman at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:mnorman@winona.edu\">mnorman@winona.edu<\/a>&nbsp;for more information about internships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n    <div class=\"panel panel--white\">\n        <div class=\"panel__container\">\n            <div class=\"panel__intro\">\n                            <div class=\"h3\">Sociology<\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n            \n\n<p>To set up an internship, you\u2019ll first meet with the Internship Coordinator to discuss your ideas for the internship and your DARS report. Email Dr. Civettini at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ncivettini@winona.edu\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:ncivettini@winona.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ncivettini@winona.edu<\/a>\u00a0to arrange this meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you have had your internship experience approved, you and your site supervisor should complete the Contract for Internship\/Field Experience and return the original signed forms to the internship coordinator.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once these contracts are signed, you will be enrolled in the
