Get Ready for What's Next

Take the Next Step to Become a Warrior

Congrats, Future Warrior!

We can't wait for you to join us on campus in the fall. You are going to have a great time learning new skills, exploring your limits and getting to know interesting people.

Still wondering if you got in? Check myWSU to find out if you've been accepted!

International students should take their next steps to prepare for arriving on campus. Adult students have a specific set of next steps for their needs as well.

Keep an Eye on Important Dates

There are many deadlines to keep track of as you prepare to arrive on campus. Here's a breakdown of important dates for new students.

Psst, Parents & Families!

Your student wouldn't have made it this far without your support. Here's how you can continue to help your student as they start the next stage of their lives at WSU.

Sign Up for Choose WSU Admitted Student Days

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Choose WSU Days have been cancelled.

Now that you're admitted, it's time to really get to know WSU.

Choose WSU Admitted Student Days are the perfect way to an open house for all accepted students.

  • Meet with our faculty and current Winona State students
  • Eat in the dining hall
  • Tour the residence halls
  • Explore the many academic and extracurricular options at WSU

It's an opportunity for you and your family to spend a day on campus getting to know your new home.

Watch the Choose WSU Day video to get sense of what you can expect at this event.

Then, learn how you can sign up for the next Choose WSU Admitted Student Day.

Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships

FAFSA is your friend. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the main step you take to apply for financial aid.

Complete the FAFSA starting Oct. 1— the earlier the better!—and before May 15.

You'll automatically be considered for some scholarships with your application to WSU. But there are many more you can apply for such as:

  • Academic department scholarships
  • Talent-based scholarships
  • WSU Foundation scholarships

Explore all your options for financial aid and make a plan for how you'll pay for college.

Let's Figure Out FAFSA

Secure Your Crib

Apply for housing and submit your $250 deposit to lock down your spot in the residence halls.

An earlier application gets you an earlier spot in the room selection process.

The sooner you send in your housing deposit, the more likely you'll get your top choice.

Connect with Your Classmates

Join the Class of 2023 Facebook Group and get to know your new friends. We've also got a Facebook group just for transfer students

Say hi, drop your Snap handles and make plans to meet IRL when you arrive on campus.

And no need to contain your excitement about becoming a Warrior.

Use #2023 and #WinonaBound on Instagram to let fellow Warriors know you're on your way to WSU.

Visit WSU Again (Maybe Go Off the Map)

Our tour guides would love to show you around campus again.

Come back, see WSU in a different season and picture yourself here as a real WSU student.
