Frequently Asked Questions

Our non-credit and continuing education classes are open to adults, ages 18 and older, unless otherwise indicated in the course description.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for select courses. This information, including the number of CEUs offered and total Contact Hours, is listed in the Course Description of the individual course’s registration page. For more information, please review our CEU Frequently Asked Questions.

Browse our current offerings by category, or use the Search bar on the right hand side to find a certain course. You can also click on “Add Other Search Criteria” or “Click for Advanced Search” to further filter your results. When you have found a course that interests you, click on the link to view a full course description (including possible CEUs) and other pertinent course information, such as instructor and location.

To register for a non-credit class with us, you will need to sign in to an existing account, or create a new account. Having an account will allow you to register and pay online and track your non-credit course selections. Please note that if you are a current or past WSU student, this account is not the same account used to register and pay for credit courses.

When you have found a class you want to take, click on the "Add to Cart" button on the class screen. Follow the prompts (signing in if necessary) to complete your registration and payment on our secured site using your credit or debit card. You will receive an email confirmation of your registration within 24 hours. (Please be sure to check your junk or spam folders.)

If you wish to arrange for third party registration and payment (so that your employer will be invoiced for the registration fee), contact us at WSU Adult & Continuing Education, Main Campus, Somsen Hall 209, Winona, Minnesota, 507.457.5080, 800.DIALWSU ext. 5080, or continuingeducation@winona.edu.

Unless otherwise noted, registration opens as soon as the class appears on the web site. Registration will typically remain open until the day before the start of the class, as long as space remains available. Many classes fill quickly, so we encourage you to register early.

If space is available in a class, the "Add to Cart" button will appear at the bottom of the registration page. If a class is filled, the "Add to Cart" button will not appear. In that event, you will have the option to click on the "Waiting List" button. (Note that not all courses offer wait lists.) If you click on the "Waiting List" button, you will be notified if space becomes available in the class or if a new section of the class is opened.

When you register online, you will be able to see whether there is space available in a class. Once you submit the required registration and payment, you are registered and will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive an email confirming your registration, please contact us at 507.457.5080, 800.DIALWSU ext. 5080, or continuingeducation@winona.edu.

If we have to cancel a class due to low enrollment, we will notify you as soon as possible. You will receive a full refund of your registration fee, or you can use the amount you've paid toward another course of your choice, space permitting.

Withdrawal and refund policies vary from course to course; please be sure to review the specific policies when you register for your class. If you need to withdraw from a class and notify us before the course deadline, you may be able to transfer to another class or receive a full or partial refund. No refunds or transfers will be accepted if you notify us after the stated deadline. If you have any questions about withdrawal deadlines and refund policies for a specific class, please contact us at 507.457.5080, 800.DIALWSU ext. 5080, or continuingeducation@winona.edu.

Severe weather, emergency conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel a course or an individual class date. In the event of a cancelled course or class date, we will make every effort to re-schedule.  If a cancelled class cannot be re-scheduled, a refund will be issued.
