Accreditation and Outcomes

The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program at Winona State is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3101.

 

 

Board of Certification Pass Rates

95% Pass the First Time since 2009 (12 graduating classes)

WSU students have been very successful in passing the Board of Certification (BOC) examination on the first attempt since the program’s inception.

Over the past eleven years years (2009 - 2021) we have achieved a 95% first time pass rate with 118 out of 124 students passing the exam on their first attempt. The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) requires that we post the most recent three year aggregate (2019 - 2021).

MSAT Student Graduation Rates

Graduation rate (taken from United States Department of Education): Measures the progress of students who began their studies as full-time, first-time degree- or certificate seeking students by showing the percentage of these students who complete their degree or certificate within a 150% of "normal time" for completing the program in which they are enrolled.

Graduation rate is calculated as: the sum of students with a Graduated status divided by the total number of students in the cohort.

Program Goals and Outcomes

The WSU Athletic Training program is committed to providing the best educational experience to the students accepted and enrolled in our professional degree program.

In order to ensure program effectiveness multiple points of assessment data are gathered to evaluate the success of the curriculum, the clinical experiences and our students.
