Personal Statement

I have been teaching at Winona State University since the fall of 2001. I previously taught full-time at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY and Loyola University in Chicago, IL.

I spend most of my free time with my spouse and our son exploring the outdoors, attending community events, cooking, travelling, and reading. I am also an avid gardener, and I enjoy singing in two local choirs.

Professional Statement

I have sustained research interests in how social movements use communication effectively to promote social change including the use of social media in environmentalist and ecofeminist discourse.

To present my research, I have travelled to Uppsala, Sweden; Boulder, Colorado; and Leicester, England.
