Awards, Honors & Accomplishments
In 2010, Winona State University College of Education was selected as one of 14 Higher Education Institutions (IHEs) to transform teacher education. The Archibald Bush Foundation, in Minneapolis, Minnesota awarded $3.7 million dollars for this work.
The Network for Excellence in Teaching (NExT) was established. The mission of the NExT schools in partnership with the Archibald Bush Foundation is to improve and transform the process of teacher education. We call our initiative Teach21.
Our Teach21 partnerships with early childhood centers, K-12 schools, and community education agencies allow our students to engage with Pk-12 students and the professional teaching workforce in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and the world!
One of the significant products of this award are the “Common Metrics” tools for ongoing assessment of student experiences and TEI programs.
