Here is a list of Winter Break hours of operation for departments.
If a department is not listed here, it assumed to be operating under normal hours and providing services as usual.
Academic Programs & Colleges
College of Business
The College of Business staff are working remotely from 8am-4pm.

The College of Education staff are working remotely from 8am-4pm.
If you have questions, please contact the departments directly. You can expect a response within four hours during regular business hours.

College of Liberal Arts
The office of the College of Liberal Arts is staffed and remains open from 7:30am-4pm. However, many staff are working remotely.

The office for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences will remain open from 7:30am-4pm and provide all usual services.

Campus Visits & Events
While on-campus daily visits and Saturday visits are cancelled, you can take a virtual tour of WSU and join a virtual Admissions presentation.

Adult & Continuing Education
The WSU Adult & Continuing team is primarily working remotely and keeping normal business hours.
We are here to help adult learners and local businesses with any of their training needs – even at a distance.

Athletics
The NCAA, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and Winona State Athletics continue to monitor and work through logistics for fall intercollegiate sport competition.
Fall sports practice and competition schedules are being adjusted to meet the new NCAA standards, and are available on our website. Please check schedule pages often for updates as they occur.

WSU Security will be operating business as usual. However, response times may be delayed.
WSU Shuttle & Vans
The WSU Shuttle and vans will be operational for the 2020-2021 academic year. Face masks are required while riding on the shuttle or van. The shuttles and vans are operating with reduced capacities to allow for social distancing.
Building Access
The following rules for accessing buildings take effect Aug. 17.
Academic Buildings
- Exterior doors will be unlocked Monday-Friday from 7am-5 pm
- Exterior doors will be locked all day Saturday and Sunday
- Faculty & Staff: 24/7 access using their WSU ID
- Students: access between 7am-11pm seven days a week using their WSU ID
Kryzsko Commons
Exterior doors will be unlocked during business hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 7am – 10pm
- Friday: 7am – 11pm
- Saturday: 10am – 11pm Sunday: 10am – 10pm
No WSU ID card access without prior approval.
Wabasha Rec Center
Students can use their WSU ID to access the Wabasha Rec Center from 7am-11pm on Monday-Friday.
The Warrior Cupboard Food Shelf
The Warrior Cupboard remains open, and students can request access to the space by emailing wellness@winona.edu with their StarID and name.
Emergency Access
If emergency access to a Winona campus building is required, please contact Security at 507.457.5555.
Please do not prop any doors open. If you see an exterior door that is not closing properly, please call Security at 507.457.5555 and identify the problem door so facilities can be notified.
Business Office
The Business Office is staffed Monday–Friday with a combination of telework and on campus presence.
Employees and students can stop by or reach a staff member by email or chat via Teams.

Getting Your Warrior ID Card
Facilities
The Facilities Office will remain open from 7am-3:30pm. Day-to-day work assignments will be adjusted as needed to respond to changing conditions.
Building Access
A WSU ID card will be required to access all buildings and facilities. Contact WSU Security at 507.457.5555 for assistance accessing buildings.
Campus Events
All events through May 1 are occurring online, via alternate means or have been cancelled.
Cleaning Practices
The WSU Facilities team is performing cleaning per CDC guidelines, with added attention to frequently touched surfaces such as:
- Doorknobs/handles
- Elevator buttons
- Faucets
- Countertops
- Security card readers
More frequent or additional cleaning may require shut down of some spaces on campus in order to reallocate maintenance staff and resources.
Employees and students are encouraged to wipe down keyboards, desk phones and other small items before each use.
Additional hand sanitizer stations are being installed in high-traffic areas. All hand sanitizer stations are being checked and refilled more frequently.
Mail Deliveries
There will not be mail deliveries to departments or buildings. Mail can be picked up at the Facilities Office during business hours.

Motor Pool Reservations
Motor Pool vehicle reservations will resume on Aug. 17 with additional guidelines and sanitization protocols.
Kryzsko Commons Student Union & Bookstore
Please see the Kryzsko Commons Student Union website for the current hours of operation.
You can shop online for textbooks and other general merchandise. Orders will be processed as quickly as possible.

Dining Services
All dining halls and retail dining areas are closed.
The office for Dining Services is also closed and you can contact the staff through the Dining Services website.
Dining Options for Fall 2020
Both residential dining halls will be open for service during the school year. We're also planning to open retail areas in Kryzsko Commons, Somsen Hall and Krueger Library including:

Health Services & Counseling Services
Health Services
Health Services is providing services via Telehealth Appointments on Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm.
On-site medical appointments are available as needed.

The Health Services team will be taking steps to reduce contact and promote social distancing. These steps include:

Counseling Services
Although you may feel distant from our WSU community, you are not alone and we are still here to support you and your mental health during this challenging time.
The Counseling Services team is working remotely Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.
We are offering tele-counseling appointments. You'll be sent instructions and a meeting link prior to your scheduled appointment

IWC Programs & Services
As of Aug. 17, the IWC Strength & Fitness Center are currently operating in a severely limited and restricted manner.
Although practices are subject to change or cancellation at any time without notice, the following restrictions are in place as of Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020:
Access to the strength & fitness center is available to all students Monday-Friday between 10am-8pm.
Students must reserve fitness stations using EMS room reservation system and are restricted to two 45-minute workouts per week.
Face masks must be worn at all times and physical distances must be maintained.
Fitness classes will continue to be offered virtually and a plan for reduced-capacity, physically distanced in-person classes in WSU gyms and green spaces is being developed.
The pool is closed and Aquatics programs are postponed until at least 12/31/2020.
All rec sports (including intramurals activities and activities by sports-related student clubs) are highly restricted:
- Competitive play is cancelled through 12/31/2020
- Travel is banned and all medium- and high-risk play is also prohibited for the foreseeable future
- Clubs and teams who can design low-risk team building, skills-drills, or training activities should submit those plans, along with their COVID-19 Safety Plans, to the event/activities registration for possible approval

Warrior Cupboard - Food Shelf for Students
The Warrior Cupboard in IWC 130 is still open for students in need.
Students can request access to the Warrior Cupboard by emailing wellness@winona.edu and include their StarID in the email.
IWC staff can also help students fill out MN SNAP applications and connect them to other services in the community to help with food and housing insecurity.
Library
All library services are provided online. Patrons are encouraged to check our website and Facebook for updates.
We created a guide that outlines our services moving forward and will serve as a base for library updates as this situation changes.
To access the library you will need your Winona State ID and use it via the keycard access point at the Front Door.
Summer Building Hours
The first floor of the Krueger Library is open to students for computers, printers, scanners, Wi-Fi, and study space during the summer. Summer hours will be:
- Sunday: 1-9pm
- Monday-Thursday: 12-9pm
- Friday: 12-5pm
- Saturday: Closed
Academic Year Hours
Starting on Aug. 24, the Krueger Library will be open for WSU students, faculty and staff on the following:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-12am
- Friday: 7:30am-5pm
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: 1pm-12am
Outdoor Education & Recreation Center
The OERC will be closed following the guidelines in place by the CDC and the Minnesota Department of Health.
The OERC is a high-touch environment and in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, we will be closed until students are allowed to return to campus.

Tutoring Services
All tutoring sessions, including those offered by the WSU Writing Center, will be online.
Students can now sign up for an appointment with a WSU Tutor just 15 minutes in advance. These appointments with WSU tutors will not count against their Tutor.com online tutoring allotment.
Tutoring Services appointments started on March 23 and Writing Center Appointments will start March 30.
To access the WSU tutors, use TutorTrac to search for a tutor for your course. Click on an appointment time, and read your confirmation email with important information on how to connect online with your tutor.
To access your 15 hours of professional 24/7 online tutors, log into your D2L homepage and scroll down to see the tutor.com link on the right hand side. Then click on Connect with a Tutor Now.

The Children's Center is closed until further notice. No Children's Center charges are being assessed at this time.

At this time you can also access the Emergency Shelf for basic needs. Diapers, wipes, personal care items, cleaning, and canned or boxed foods available to all Center families in need through August 2020.

WSU-Rochester at RCTC
The WSU-Rochester campus is co-located with Rochester Community and Technical College. See updates on RCTC's response to COVID-19 for info on campus facilities and services.
Face masks must be worn at all times when on any WSU, RCTC, or other affiliated campus or building.
RCTC has listed their fall semester buildings hours and accessible entrances on their website. Please review the accessible entrances and open hours at RCTC before planning your return to campus.
RCTC staff and security will be available at every open entrance to help provide assistance and direction as needed. Be prepared to show your WSU student ID at the entrance. Screening tools will be implemented at each entrance including verification of face masks.

WSU-Rochester on Broadway
The WSU-Rochester on Broadway offices remain closed to the public. However this building will be accessible to authorized students and staff with WSU ID card reader access.
