{"id":24,"date":"2022-08-23T11:06:47","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T16:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-wsu.pantheonsite.io\/financial-aid\/work-study\/"},"modified":"2023-08-17T16:29:32","modified_gmt":"2023-08-17T21:29:32","slug":"work-study","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/financial-aid\/paying-for-college\/work-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Jobs &amp; Work Study"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-text-intro wp-block-paragraph\">Campus jobs are a great opportunity to gain work experience and earn money for college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many students also work part-time during college to help cover tuition costs and living expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WSU departments employ over 1,000 students each year in either work study or student help positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you have a work study job or student help job, you\u2019ll earn the University minimum wage and receive a paycheck every 2 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n    <div class=\"panel panel--white\">\n        <div class=\"panel__container\">\n            <div class=\"panel__intro\">\n                        <\/div>\n            \n\n<div class=\"wsu-block tabs\">\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-nav\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-1\">Work Study Program<\/button>\n<button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-2\">Student Help Jobs<\/button>\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-content\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Work Study Program<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>Work study is part of your financial aid award, and it\u2019s given to students who have financial need.<\/p>\n<p>Work study programs are funded through both the State of Minnesota and the federal government. However, you must be a Minnesota resident to receive state work study awards.<\/p>\n<p>To be considered for work study, the first step is to file the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/a> (FAFSA). You must also be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits for undergraduate students and 3 credits for graduate students) to be eligible.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve been awarded work study, then you\u2019ll start searching for a work study job.
