Message from Director Sonja Meiers
Winona State University (WSU) received notice from the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) on May 29, 2015 that the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program and the Post-Graduate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Programs at Winona State University were fully accredited. The accreditation period is five years, which is the maximum number of years of accreditation allowed for new programs. All graduates of our DNP programs and any of our Post-Graduate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) programs since October 2014 graduated from a program accredited by CCNE.
We want to thank you for your continued contributions to learning in the WSU Graduate Nursing Programs and for your contributions to our collective success. WSU is very proud of the achievements of our nursing programs.
I want to acknowledge the excellent work of the WSU Graduate Nursing Faculty, Administration, Staff, Clinical Affiliates, and Graduate Students throughout the accreditation self-study and site evaluation process.
Best wishes for a great summer and thank you again for supporting excellence in scholarship at Winona State University.
Sonja J. Meiers, PhD, RN
