On the back of MasterCard, Visa, and Discover cards, the last four digits of the credit card number are listed along with a three-digit number. Those three digits are the security code. On the front of the American Express card, the security code is four digits long and not embossed.

The security code is needed to verify that the registrant is in possession of the card, which decreases the likelihood of someone using a stolen credit card number. Although this is probably not a problem with Grandparents University registrants, it is a built-in security feature of the credit card processing software.

Yes, you have the option of paying by check or credit card.
