The Global Studies and World Languages Department strongly encourages its majors and minors to consider studying abroad either for a semester or for a full year. If students are not able to go for a full semester or a year, they are encouraged to participate in short-term travel study programs.
WSU has partnered with a number of educational institutions abroad. More information about these programs is available through International Programs. This site also makes it possible for you to search for programs and destinations you might consider more suitable for you. The study abroad programs to Spain, Costa Rica, Japan and China are most popular with our majors and minors.
Currently the Spanish program offers Travel Study opportunities in in Costa Rica and Spain. Similar arrangements are being planned for other destinations in Latin America. Our French instructor conducts a summer travel study program in France. Our Japanese instructor is planning a summer travel study trip to Japan during summer 2018. And our global studies faculty member offers a travel study trip to Ecuador.
You can obtain more detailed information about these programs through International Programs. You may also contact any faculty member in the GSWL department for more information and advising about these opportunities.
