The WSU History Department offers majors in four areas:
We also offer a minor in history and a middle school level social studies minor.
We have put together sample course sequences that will show students how to complete their major coursework in four years. A student needs 120 total credit hours as part of the graduation requirements at WSU. Therefore, the combined amount of total credit hours for the major requirements and general education may not exceed 120. Both the Legal Studies and History majors are easily combined with additional majors, minors, or focused areas of study. This means students who wait until the end of their sophomore year to declare a History or Legal Studies major can still graduate from college in four years. The Social Science/History Teaching major is interdisciplinary and therefore combines a wide range of subjects within the prescribed major.
