The WSU Housing policies and procedures are there to make sure that every student feels safe and respected both inside and outside of the classroom.

What will my room look like?
Our residence halls offer students a wide range of room types and sizes. With over 1,000 rooms, we are able to give information on the rooms dimensions.
However, we do not have the specifications for each closet or window in each individual room.

Can I have guests over?
In order to continue our efforts of minimizing the spread of COVID-19, the guest policy for Fall 2020 has been updated.
Anyone who is not a residence hall student will not be allowed in the residence halls.
This means that WSU students living off campus as well as family and friends from home will not be allowed in the residence halls for the rest of this semester.
A decision has not yet been made if visitors will be allowed for Spring semester.
Effective starting October 1, 2020
Students living in the residence halls will be allowed to have a maximum of one (1) visitor who is living in another residence hall.
- All visitors must be registered and checked in at the front desk
- If you have roommates, you must get permission to have a guest
- Visitors are not allowed more than 3 consecutive nights
What furnishings are included?
Every room is furnished with the following furniture for each student:
- an extra-long twin bed and mattress
- a desk and desk chair
- dresser or closet
- a bookshelf
There is a trash and recycling bin in each room and all windows have coverings (either a shade, blinds, or curtains).
All rooms have carpet except for Lourdes Hall.

How does the meal plan work? Can I change my plan?
If you decide you want to be on a different meal plan during the summer, you can email the Housing Office to request a change.
Once school has started, you will need to stop by the Housing Office, 235 Kryzsko Commons, and fill out a Change of On-Campus Meal Plan form.
You can only lower your meal plan within the first two weeks of each semester. You may increase your meal plan at any time.

Can I rent a loft? What are the loft dimensions?
Many students choose to rent a loft to maximize the space in their room.
All lofts are rented directly through WSU.
Where do I pick up my Warrior ID card?
If you are a first-year student and new to WSU, you will receive your Warrior ID card when you check into your residence hall.
Off-campus students and transfer students can contact the Campus Card Office to pick up your Warrior ID card.
When will I find out who my roommate is?
Roommate information will be available to view online in your StarRez Housing Portal in mid-June.
Since changes and cancellations may occur, we try to give you the most accurate roommate information available at the time.
In some cases, your roommate could change after you are initially notified. If this occurs, the change will be reflected online and you will have the opportunity to contact your new roommate.
What is there to do in Winona, MN?
There are many things to do in Winona and around campus such as: hiking, biking, sand volleyball, rollerblading, disc golf, golfing, watching movies, swimming, shopping and much more!
In the winter, there are also opportunities to go sledding, skiing, ice skating and snow shoeing, to name a few.
What is there to do on campus?
Resident Assistants (RAs) plan many activities within the residence halls, but there are also many opportunities available to students through campus clubs and organizations.

Can I break my housing agreement?
You may break your housing agreement at any time. However, your housing agreement is for the entire academic year and certain penalties will apply depending on you move out.
