New Employee Resources

The Human Resources Office would like to congratulate you on your appointment with Winona State University. We’re glad you’re here! Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the important information below.


Prior to Your First Day

New hires will receive a welcome email from Winona State University Human Resources.  New hires will also receive an email from Minnesota State containing a secure link to create an online profile where personal information will be entered for the payroll system. You must complete the online profile prior to your first day in order to have access when you start.


On Your First Day
   

Go to Human Resources, Somsen 114, to complete and sign your I-9 Employment Verification form. You will also be required to provide document(s) to prove your eligibility for employment in the U.S. Only genuine, original, unexpired documents from the List of Acceptable Documents can be accepted.

Note: If your employment is on the Rochester campus, go to Student Services 128 to complete the form. If you are hired to work at a remote location within the U.S. and you are not able to physically come to campus please contact Human Resources at 507.457.5005.

 

After Employment Starts

Training for All New Employees:
Below is the list of the new employee required trainings found in Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) which is accessed through Self Service. You can find an instructional YouTube video here on how to access ELM and how to navigate the system. 
 
  • Complete the Public Jobs/Private Data Training via ELM
  • Complete the Code of Conduct Training via ELM
  • Complete the Respectful Workplace Training via ELM
  • Complete the FERPA Training via ELM.
  • View the Shots Fired video via ELM.

 

There is one additional required training that is located in the D2L Brightspace site.  You will use your StarID and password to log in. 

  • Complete the Sexual Violence Awareness for Employees Training via D2L.

Training for All New Supervisors:

Additional training such as Emergency Management, Hazardous Waste and Blood Borne Pathogens may be required based on your position.
