Kit Klepinger

Kit grew up in rural central Wisconsin and inherited the travel bug through family road trips. While completing her bachelor’s degree in International Business/Language Area Studies (French) at St. Norbert College, Kit spent a semester in Avignon, France, where her host dad worked for the European Union as the creation of the Euro was evolving.  Discussions around the dinner table lit a flame to understand the nuances of history and sociolinguistics in relation to culture and collaboration.

Kit spent a few years after undergraduate studies exploring Colorado and California while working in outdoor education before the pull to return to France took hold.  After a year in Tours, France to start her master’s degree at Bowling Green State University, Kit returned to the U.S. to complete her studies and got hooked on working in international student services.  She has been working in international education for almost 15 years.

Kit’s role in ISSS includes engaging with prospective students, families, and partners to share opportunities available at WSU, collaborating with campus and community partners to support current students, overseeing WSU’s compliance with SEVIS, and supporting international students through immigration processes.

To relax and unwind, Kit enjoys gardening, reading, and planning future travels.  She also likes to bike and hike around a bit, here in the Driftless area or wherever a car, plane or train may take her.
