Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Mu Chapter


Kappa Mu is the local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, an international professional organization supporting nursing excellence.

The Kappa Mu chapter has been in operation for over 30 years, and Sigma celebrated 100 years in 2021!

Our chapter goal is to support members in their nursing practice, research, scholarship, and service goals and to achieve nursing excellence in our service area.

Scholarships


Nursing students are encouraged to apply for one of our Kappa Mu scholarships to assist with funding a creative activity, project, or advancing nursing education.


Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Applicants must be a current Kappa Mu member or eligible for induction into Kappa Mu prior to graduation.

The deadline for applications (PDF) is March 31.

International Year of the Nurse & Midwife Celebration

A celebration of the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife was held Oct. 19, 2020, with presenter Sonja Meiers, PhD, APRN, CNS, PHN, AGCNS-BC who highlighted "Florence Nightingale and Care of the Family" on Zoom.
