Field Experience

SOCW 350 Field Experience is a 120-hour internship completed prior to applying to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program that is designed to introduce students to all aspects of working with people in a human service agency.

In SOCW 350 Field Experience, students get meaningful, hands-on opportunities to work directly with individuals, groups, and staff at a variety of different types of settings.

Successful completion of this course is a pre-requisite to formal admission to the Social Work program.

Field Experience is completed during the semester, with students in placement for typically 8-10 hours per week.

HOW TO APPLY: Students must submit an application to be approved to enroll in SOCW 350 Field Experience in the semester before they intend to complete the course. Below are the steps to complete the application:
