Student Clubs

Student Council for Exceptional Children

SCEC is the student professional organization for Special Education. The club meets once a month and sponsors activities which are social, professional development, and service.

Kids First After School Program

Volunteers work with children at the Maplewood Townhomes Housing Authority. Children are of diverse backgrounds and receive help with homework and participate in recreational activities.

Project COMPASS – Winona Community Education

Provides classes and activities for community individuals with disabilities. Classes range from movie nights and bowling to exercise classes and crafts. Volunteers are always welcome.

Hands-on Work Opportunities

Home and Community Options
A local agency that provides residential and respite care for individuals with disabilities. Employment and volunteer opportunities are available.

Travel Program

The department offers a faculty-led travel program to Jamaica once a year. The trip includes living in a boys’ orphanage, visiting public schools and touring agencies in Kingston.
