There are also Associate Senators who volunteer to join these committees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-block grid grid--50\">\n    <div class=\"wsu-block contact-card mb-1\">\n   <div class=\"contact-card__content\">\n       <div class=\"contact-card__title h4\">\n           Academic Affairs Committee\n       <\/div>\n       <div class=\"contact-card__subtitle h4\">\n           \n       <\/div>\n       <div class=\"contact-card__description\">\n           <div>\n<p>This committee focuses on issues affecting students\u2019 academic life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This committee selects speakers for all commencement ceremonies, works with the bookstore on textbook issues, coordinates with departments to optimize career mapping, and serves as Student Senate&#8217;s main addresses issues related to race\/ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, socio-economic status, gender or gender identity, nationality, marital status, and age.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The committee is focused on the recruitment, retention, and admission of faculty, staff and students of diverse backgrounds, facilitating scholarly dialogue across campus, and making recommendations to Student Senate regarding inclusive and diverse approaches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n       <\/div>\n       <a class=\"wsu-link contact-card__link\" organization financed and operated by students.<\/div>\n   \n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students United is led by Minnesota State University students who are the voice for all future, current and former students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their purpose is to represent and support Minnesota State University students and be an advocate at a campus, state and federal level for higher education policies that positively impact students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Student United is funded by a $0.61 per credit fee, paid by all students enrolled at a Minnesota State University.
