WSU students are automatically eligible for financial assistance, which is available upon request. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Health Services bills through insurance but health insurance is not required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no payment at the time of service. Health Services will bill to your insurance carrier through our billing company, CompuMed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After insurance has paid its portion, charges will be placed on your student account and an invoice mailed to your billing address detailing the claim and amount due. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are not able to pay that amount, call our Insurance Coordinator at 507.457.2297 to request financial assistance. These charges may be posted to student accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you miss an appointment without notifying Health Services in advance, you may be charged a No-Show Fee. No-Show Fee charges are $15 per occurrence and will be posted to your student account.<\/p>\n\n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"good-faith-estimates\">Good Faith Estimates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You have the right to receive a \u201cGood Faith Estimate\u201d explaining how much your health care will cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don\u2019t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of their bill for health care items and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you schedule a health care service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn more about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cms.gov\/medical-bill-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">healthcare consumer protections<\/a>&nbsp;and email&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:FederalPPDRQuestions@cms.hhs.gov\" target=\"_blank\">FederalPPDRQuestions@cms.hhs.gov<\/a>&nbsp;or call 1.800.985.3059 if you have any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n    <div class=\"panel panel--white\">\n        <div class=\"panel__container\">\n            <div class=\"panel__intro\">\n                        <\/div>\n            \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health Insurance Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please bring current insurance information at each visit to Health &amp; Wellness Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have your card, email a picture of both the front and back to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:tkauphusman@winona.edu\/\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:tkauphusman@winona.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tkauphusman@winona.edu<\/a>. Make sure to include these specific pieces of information:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ID<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group ID<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name of Policy Carrier (what company is the insurance through)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"in-network\">Get the Best Coverage for Your Care at WSU Health Services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>By ensuring your insurance offers the best coverage at our clinic, you can lower healthcare costs even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can request an insurance referral from your primary care provider\/clinic for Winona State University Health &amp; Wellness Services Clinic (NPI# 1700906633)<strong>.<\/strong> They can request several appointments for while you are away at college and these are generally good for a year at a time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure that your primary care clinic sends the request to your insurance provider. You can also backdate this request if you have previous appointments to cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow up with your insurance carrier to ensure that the referral has been processed by calling the customer service number on the back of your card.
