Start by taking advantage of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/student-life\/support\/tutoring-services\/\">Tutoring Services<\/a> to help improve your grades.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your situation does not improve, you could:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>drop a class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>withdraw from a class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>change the grade method&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to understand the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/student-life\/support\/advising-services\/drop-withdraw-change-grade-method\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"4176\">differences between these options<\/a>, the deadlines for each and their consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before making a decision, you should connect with your academic advisor or an advisor in Warrior Success Center to make sure this choice is right for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"orientation-leader\">Become a Student Orientation Leader<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During Welcome Week, student orientation leaders help incoming first-year students adjust socially and academically to Winona State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student orientation leaders typically work with groups of about 20-30 first-year students to help them get to know one another and learn about campus resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 50 student orientation leaders will be hired for Fall 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-block tabs\">\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-nav\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-1\">Benefits<\/button>\n<button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-2\">Minimum Requirements<\/button>\n<button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-3\">Application Process<\/button>\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-content\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Benefits<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>It\u2019s a great opportunity to pass along your insight and experience about campus life, current issues, and expectations at WSU.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, you\u2019ll benefit from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Earning a $250 scholarship<\/li>\n<li>Gaining practical leadership experience<\/li>\n<li>Building your resume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Satisfaction in knowing you helped incoming first-year students make a successful transition to WSU<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Minimum Requirements<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>To qualify for a student orientation leader position, you must meet these requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be in good academic standing (i.e. 67% or greater course completion rate) and have a minimum WSU GPA of 2.2 or higher.<\/li>\n<li>Be available Aug. 19-22, 2026 from 8am-3:30pm for New Student Welcome Week and leader training, where you&#8217;ll prepare for and work with incoming first-year students.<\/li>\n<li>Connect with your assigned students 3 times during the Fall semester and one time during Spring semester in any way.<\/li>\n<li>You could reach out to them using email or Facebook, attending a campus event together, visiting their Orientation classroom during the semester, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Help reinforce and support conversational topics related to alcohol and drug awareness, cultural awareness, bystander education (e.g., how to actively help another person or student who needs help), and other helpful topics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In general, good student leaders are cheerful, resourceful, and helpful to our incoming students.<\/p>\n<p>They are also highly knowledgeable of WSU\u2019s campus resources.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Application Process<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>It takes just 5-10 minutes to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/mnscu.sharepoint.com\/teams\/WSU-Orientation-Leaders\/_layouts\/15\/listform.aspx?PageType=8&amp;ListId=%7B1CF021BE-2A89-475B-A6AE-040C78C66407%7D&amp;RootFolder=%2Fteams%2FWSU-Orientation-Leaders%2FLists%2FOrientationLeaderApplication&amp;Source=https%3A%2F%2Fmnscu.sharepoint.com%2Fteams%2FWSU-Orientation-Leaders%2FLists%2FOrientationLeaderApplication%2FAllitemsg.aspx&amp;ContentTypeId=0x01009995606DBF8A1E4BBD6FD68719DEB133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Student Orientation Leader Application<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We are accepting applications until positions are filled.<\/p>\n<p>The sooner you apply, the sooner you can choose your preferred interview time!<\/p>\n<p>Already submitted your application but need to go back and add or change details?
