If you\u2019ve had 2 or more years or more of a high school language course, then you will likely be in 102 or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n    <div class=\"panel panel--white\">\n        <div class=\"panel__container\">\n            <div class=\"panel__intro\">\n                            <div class=\"h3\">Evaluation Process<\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n            \n\n<p>The online language exams are free and quick\u2014usually less than 20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talk to the language instructor if you have doubts about the placement recommendations from your placement test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-block tabs\">\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-nav\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-1\">Chinese, French, German, &amp; Spanish<\/button>\n<button class=\"tabs__toggle\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"tabbed-2\">Japanese <\/button>\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div class=\"tabs-content\">\n        <button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Chinese, French, German, &amp; Spanish<\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>You\u2019ll need to create a free account to take a <a href=\"https:\/\/app.emmersion.ai\/registration?shortId=21a4e828bf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">language placement exam<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<button class=\"tabs__mobile__toggle\">Japanese <\/button>\n<div class=\"tabs__content__item\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><div><p>Dr. Nagai created the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScr7zdcSxGrhHGiYbZo_qmk_R4P3Gz1ca20JDhceMQC0bx7QQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Japanese Placement Evaluation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She will advise your course placement based on your results.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Retroactive Credit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can get retroactive credit for lower-level courses if they earn a \u201cA\u201d or \u201cB\u201d in a WSU language courses at the levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>102<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>201<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>202<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>301<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, a student who places into SPAN 201 and earns an \u201cA\u201d or \u201cB\u201d may buy the credits for SPAN 101 and SPAN 102.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apply for Retroactive Credits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>have completed the original WSU course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have received an official grade in the course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be enrolled in a degree program at WSU with a minimum 2.00 GPA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be enrolled at WSU during the semester in which the credits are requested<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact your instructor to start the application for retroactive credits.
