{"id":897,"date":"2025-07-03T10:36:21","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T15:36:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/student-life\/?page_id=897"},"modified":"2025-07-03T10:36:21","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T15:36:21","slug":"lost-stolen-documents","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/student-life\/support\/international-services\/visa-rules-regulations\/lost-stolen-documents\/","title":{"rendered":"Lost or Stolen Immigration Documents"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-text-intro wp-block-paragraph\">If you lose any of your immigration documents, take action to replace them immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Replace Your Passport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please contact your Consulate in the U.S. and file a report with the Winona Police Department. Please note that the visa stamp cannot be replaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep in mind that your visa is your key into the country, so you are maintaining your visa status as long as you stay in the U.S. and have a valid I-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you need to leave the U.S., you will need to apply for a new visa to re-enter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Replace Your I-94 Card<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most students now access their I-94 record electronically because this record is updated online when a visa holder arrives by air or sea.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, if you arrive via a land border port of entry (by car, train etc.), you may still receive a card version of the I-94.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are&nbsp;<strong>planning to leave<\/strong>&nbsp;the United States&nbsp;<strong>within 30-45 days, you do not need a replacement<\/strong>&nbsp;I-94 card. The replacement process cannot be completed in less than 45 days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The replacement process takes<strong>&nbsp;4 to 6 months<\/strong>&nbsp;to complete. To replace an I-94 card, use these instructions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" style=\"list-style-type:1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete an\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-102\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I-102 form<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include a $445 check or money order payable to \u201cDepartment of Homeland Security&#8221; (no abbreviations)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a copy of previous I-94 card, both sides (if available)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mail all items to:&nbsp;<br>United States Citizenship and Immigration Services&nbsp;<br>PO Box 21281&nbsp;<br>Phoenix, AZ 85036<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Replace Your EAD Card (F1 OPT)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may take&nbsp;<strong>up to 3 months<\/strong>&nbsp;to receive a new EAD card.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Complete the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-765\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I-765 form<\/a>&nbsp;requesting \u201creplacement of EAD\u201d:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Include a $410 check or money order payable to &#8220;Department of Homeland Security&#8221;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include a copy of I-20 signed by ISSS in the last 30 days. Contact ISSS for a new signature.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide copies of passport (biographical pages and expiration date) and visa.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide copy of I-94 record.
