{"id":905,"date":"2025-06-24T09:35:45","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T14:35:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/student-life\/?page_id=905"},"modified":"2025-06-24T09:35:45","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T14:35:45","slug":"visitors-visa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.winona.edu\/student-life\/support\/international-services\/visa-rules-regulations\/visitors-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"Visitor&#8217;s (B-2) Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-text-intro wp-block-paragraph\">A B-2 Visitor Visa allows people to enter the U.S. for a short time to visit friends and family, take a vacation, and enjoy other types of tourism.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are graduating soon, you may like to invite your parents or other family members to attend commencement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some suggestions to help them apply for a visitor&#8217;s visa (B-2) at a US consulate or embassy in your home country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Write a letter of invitation. In your letter, include the following information&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The purpose of the visit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your relationship to the individuals&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your status at Winona State University&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The length of time they will be visiting&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Itinerary of the visit&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide\u202fdetails about the commencement ceremony&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Include an Enrollment Verification Letter from the Registrar\u2019s Office to confirm your student status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Request a graduation announcement letter by completing the Graduation Announcement Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Providing your family members with a letter of invitation&nbsp;<strong>may help their chances<\/strong>&nbsp;of obtaining a visa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, there is&nbsp;<strong>no guarantee<\/strong>&nbsp;a visa will be issued.
