Student Help Program

The student help program is funded by departments and programs on campus. All students are eligible for student help positions.

As with the work study program, this program provides funding for a wide variety of student positions in areas such as clerical/receptionist, security, child care, tutoring, lifeguarding, refereeing intramural sports, ushering, grounds keeping, maintenance, computer technology, photography, story writing and many more.

Student help job openings are often not posted on the Career Services website. Because there are such large numbers of students seeking this type of employment, supervisors receive applications from many qualified candidates without having to advertise job openings. One of the most effective ways of securing a student help position is to go door-to-door to make an inquiry in person. To effectively represent yourself to a potential employer, think ahead of time about the skills you have to offer and what you may bring to a position.
