Teacher Education

WSU has a long and storied national and international history of innovation and leadership.

We were the first normal school (public teachers' college) west of the Mississippi, the first home of the National Education Association (NEA), and the source of the first teachers recruited 150 years ago by Argentina's first democratically elected president, who promised to build that nation's new democracy "with teachers and not soldiers."

If you are interested in a career as an educator, you have come to the right place.

We currently offer 22 undergraduate teacher licensure programs, 1 post-baccalaureate teacher licensure program and 4 graduate programs.
