Laptop Sale
Due to COVID-19 precautions, graduating students have the option to complete the sale remotely or come to campus (Winona and Rochester) through the month of December.
Fall 2020 graduates will receive an email with a link to the Aspen Capital secure payment site with their login information. Students who wish to purchase will receive email instructions on next steps once they confirm payment.
Only students who are graduating Fall 2020 are eligible to purchase their laptop.
Not purchasing your laptop? Return your laptop by Friday, December 18 to avoid late fees. You can return it in person on the Winona Campus in Somsen hall 207 or on the Rochester campus in Goddard Library room 118. If you are away from campus it can be mailed to:

- Check your WSU email for the buyout link and pay for laptop online. Our leasing company, Aspen Capital accepts Discover, Visa and Mastercard. No cash or checks.
- After payment is confirmed, if you have a 2018 model laptop you will be emailed instructions for resetting it; If you have a newer model laptop, you will be emailed instructions for exchanging it. *Paying will not erase any data automatically.*
How much does it cost?
Aspen Capital, Winona State’s leasing company, sets the prices and conducts the sale. The price is based on the number of years you have participated in the eWarrior program.

Can I purchase my laptop outside of these sale dates?
Which laptop model can I purchase?
Fall 2020 graduates can buy out the following devices:
- HP x360 18
- MacBook Pro 18
If you currently have an 18-model laptop, you will purchase the one you have.
If you have a newer device, you will return it and purchase a stock model of the same platform you returned.
You are not able to switch platforms at the time of purchase.
Do I need to back up my data before purchasing my laptop?
What happens if I have problems with the laptop I purchase?
At the time of sale, we will provide you with information on any remaining manufacturer’s warranty left on your laptop.
Winona State assumes no responsibility for the support of devices after the sale.
Can I keep my Winona State email address?
Yes, your current WSU email will remain active as long as you keep using it.
Your email account will be deactivated if it has not accessed within one year’s time.
Will I have access to Microsoft Office?
If you choose to keep your Winona State email address, you will also have access to an Office 365 subscription.
After the buyout process, log into your WSU email from a web browser and click "Install Office" in the top right corner to download Office 365 Apps.
What is the sale process?
I have paid for my laptop. How do I erase or exchange it?
To exchange or erase in person contact tech support for an appointment. Macs can be reset by following these instructions. This process will remove all files from your laptop. Ensure you have backed up your files prior. HPs can be erased remotely by using a USB drive. Contact tech support to receive one.
