Laptop Sale


Graduating students have the option to complete the sale remotely or come to campus (Winona and Rochester) through Aug. 2022.

Spring and Summer 2022 graduates will receive an email with a link to the Aspen Capital secure payment site with their login information on May 2.

Students who wish to purchase will receive email instructions on next steps once payment is confirmed.

Only students who are graduating Spring or Summer 2022 are eligible to purchase a laptop.


Not Purchasing Your Laptop?

Return your laptop no later than Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 to avoid late fees.

You can return it in person on the Winona Campus in Somsen hall 207 or on the Rochester campus in Coffman Center room 122.

Sale Day Details

Please read the following details carefully.

When


The laptop sale will be held primarily online.

If you are approved for Spring or Summer 2022 graduation, the buyout link will be emailed to you on May 2, 2022.

You can purchase without a late fee until Aug. 12, 2022.

Any sales from Aug. 13 – 26 will be subject to a $50 late fee.

No sales will be accepted after Aug. 26, 2022.

How


Check your WSU email for the buyout link and pay for laptop online. Our leasing company, Aspen Capital accepts Discover, Visa and Mastercard. No cash or checks.

After payment is confirmed, if you have a 2020 model laptop you will be emailed instructions for resetting it. If you have a newer model laptop, you will be emailed instructions for exchanging it.

Paying will not erase any data automatically.

Aspen Capital, Winona State’s leasing company, sets the prices and conducts the sale. The price is based on the number of years you have participated in the eWarrior program.

Please make every effort to complete your purchase as soon as possible to avoid any additional late fees.

Spring or Summer 2022 graduates can buy out the following devices: 

If you currently have a 2020 model laptop, you will purchase the one you have. 

If you have a newer device, you will return it and purchase a stock model of the same platform you returned. 

Please contact Tech Support if you are unsure which model you currently have. 

You are not able to switch platforms at the time of purchase. 

Paying for your laptop will not erase any data automatically, but you will be required to reset your laptop so it is no longer linked to your WSU account. 

You will be emailed instructions on how to reset your laptop after paying. It is important that you follow these instructions. You are responsible for backing up any data you would like to keep prior to doing this.

If you need help to back up your data, you can contact the Digital Learning Commons (DLC) located in the Krueger Library or emailing the DLC

At the time of sale, we will provide you with information on any remaining manufacturer’s warranty left on your laptop.

Winona State assumes no responsibility for the support of devices after the sale.

Yes, your current WSU email will remain active as long as you keep using it.

Your email account will be deactivated if it has not accessed within one year’s time.

You can still use Microsoft Office Apps online through your WSU email. If your Alumni email is inactivated though, you will also lose access to your O365 apps.

First you can purchase your laptop with the link provided. Then after payment is verified you will receive an email detailing how to reset your laptop remotely or setup an appointment by contacting Tech Support.

 

Laptops can be exchanged or erased in person in Winona – Somsen 207, or in Rochester – Coffman Center 122 during business hours.

Students can use online instructions to reset their laptops running on macOS Monterey or on any older version of macOS.

This process will remove all files from your laptop. Make sure you've backed up your files prior.

HPs can be erased remotely by using a USB drive. Contact tech support to receive one.

No, paying for your laptop now will not change anything on it automatically. You can purchase it and wait to erase it until your summer classes are complete. 

Yes, as long as you participate in the laptop sale by the above deadlines, the $485 Fall 2022 semester fee will be removed from your student account.

This credit takes 3-5 business days to process.
