How to Apply for the Pre-Licensure Major

Online applications are now open for the Undergraduate Pre-Licensure Nursing program (Generic option) for Fall 2020. Applications are due by Feb. 1, 2020.

The first step in applying is completion of the Program Readiness section to verify that you meet eligibility criteria for application. The Apply section will not be enabled until the Program Readiness section indicates eligibility.

Prerequisite completion is verified from the student record system. Prerequisites must be shown on your DARS with a grade.

If your DARS shows in-progress grades for prerequisites, you must complete an eTranscript request for classes taken at MinnState schools, or arrange to have transcripts sent from any other schools, including the University of Minnesota system.

You will not be able to apply until grades are shown on your DARS for at least 4 natural science prerequisites, at least 3 social science prerequisites, English, and statistics.

If you have questions, contact Beth Twiton at or 507.457.2232.

Before applying, please review the FAQs for eligibility criteria, admission criteria and scoring and additional requirements before beginning the major.

A Nursing Application and ATI TEAS Question and Answer Session will be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and 5pm in Stark 106.

Take the ATI TEAS Test

The ATI TEAS may be taken only once and should be taken the semester of application to the major. Students are responsible for the cost of testing. Test fees are not refundable.
