Poster #110 Statistical Analysis of Birth Data
Andrew Taubel
Faculty Mentor: Tisha Hooks
This project investigates a large data set made available by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics in 2009. The data set contains records for 129,444 births, with 125 variables measured on each observation. Statistical models were fit using SAS 9.2 (SAS Institute Inc., 2010) and were used to examine relationships between various characteristics of the parents and/or babies. For example, the data was used to determine whether certain characteristics increased (or decreased) the chance of a baby having a particular disease. This poster will present the results of these analyses. |
