Chemistry Programs

The Chemistry Department offers a wide variety of majors, pre-professional pathways, and minors for undergraduate students.

Five of our major programs meet the guidelines established and approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Graduates of these majors will be certified as professional chemists by ACS, which can be a great resumé booster when applying to jobs or graduate school.

About the WSU Department of Chemistry
Students have excellent educational experiences due to small class sizes and opportunities to work closely with faculty. Graduates go on to a diverse range of careers, chemistry PhD programs and professional schools such as pharmacy and medical colleges.

The Chemistry Department offers 2 teaching majors in partnership with the College of Education

Pre-Professional Pathways

The Chemistry Department advises students in several pre-professional sequences.

These sequences are not degree programs. Rather, they are intended to prepare students for careers in medicine, veterinary work, dentistry, forensics (PDF), and more.

Check out all the pre-professional pathways offered by WSU as well as the admission requirements for each pre-professional track (PDF).
