Poster #49 Spatial Analysis of Ice Hockey Shot Chart Data Sam Helmich Faculty Mentor: Tisha Hooks Hockey is a low scoring game where often a single goal can be the difference between winning and losing. Treating each shot as a data-point, over the course of a game, a spatial point pattern is created. Though analysis of that pattern, we can see what is different between teams as well as what teams did differently between games won and games lost. Using spatial and non-parametric methods, an analysis can be performed to identify possible patterns that winning teams possess and losing teams do not. |
