Poster #74 The Nuremberg Trials: International Law Changed Forever Kayla McKeeth Faculty Mentor: Matthew Lindaman The Nuremberg Trials were the first of its kind. These trials examined some of the worst crimes ever committed and prosecuted those who were responsible for them. Through the numerous trials and definitions of the crimes committed, the Nuremberg Trials changed the future of international law. The trials developed a precedent that could be used if these crimes were ever committed again and helped show that punishment will be directed to those who are responsible for the crimes. Without the Nuremberg Trials, there would be no International Crime Court to prosecute international crimes and power hungry individuals would have continued to commit crimes against humanity to achieve whatever goal they wanted.
