Resume Cart

Schedule

The Resume Cart, located in Lower Kryzsko, is staffed with Career Services staff members who can critique your resume for errors and offer suggestions on how to best represent your skills on your resume. No appointment is needed. Stop by the Resume Cart with a Final or Rough Draft during the following times:  

• Monday - 10:00 to 11:00 AND 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (2:30 - 4:30 at Lourdes)
  
• Tuesday - Noon to 2:00 pm AND 4:00 to 6:00 pm
  
• Wednesday - 10:00 to 11:00 am
  
• Thursday - Noon to 2:00 pm AND 4:00 to 6:00 pm
  
• Friday - 10:00 to Noon
  

Create a Rough Draft of your Resume

Your resume, combined with a cover letter, are the keys to opening the prospective employer's mind and door so that you can proceed to the next step in the process - an interview!
 
Some things you can check while developing your resume:

• Includes name, address, phone and professional e-mail address
• Does not include personal information (age, religion, etc.)
• Does not include names of references or former supervisors
• Is either one or two pages
• Has a minimum 1 inch margin
• Is prepared in chronological, functional, or combination format
• Has perfect spelling and grammar and no typographical errors
• Includes dates for education and experience sections
• Use consistent formatting
• Use professional looking font (no smaller than 11)
• Most relevant information is closest to the top
• Is tailored to reflect the type of work that I want
• Objective focuses on what I can offer an employer
• If using a Skill Summary section it highlights skills & experience

• Describes experiences in bullet points using action verbs
