Graduate Induction ProgramBeginning in 1986, Winona State University (WSU) and Independent School District 535 have been joint participants in a Graduate Induction Program for grades K-6 in the Rochester, MN Public Schools. The program is designed to assist inexperienced teachers (residents) with challenges unique to entry into the field of education. Residents complete a Master of Science in Education through a sequence of course work and field components. K-5 residents are placed in elementary school settings. Residents assigned to a sixth grade are at a middle school site. The Graduate Induction Program is open to students with a K-6 Elementary Education license or a K-12 Special Education license.
