first generation students walking on campus

Celebrate being a First-Gen Warrior!

Nearly half of the students at Winona State University are First-Gen Warriors, where neither parent has a 4-year bachelor's degree. We are happy you have chosen WSU as your college and our entire community is here to support your experience!

Please consider checking out the First-Gen Warrior Club.  You can  attend a meeting (attendance doesn't obligate you to join the club) or you could contact the club president, Nicholas Becker for information.  Being a member of the club will provide you support and will give you an opportunity to  help and support other first-gen students.

If you are in good academic standing and are chosen to be a H.O.P.E. mentor, you will receive a $200 stipend plus meals, room and board during the 10-day Academy.  The deadline for applications is May 9 or until the positions are filled.  For more information, visit the Inclusion and Diversity Office in Kryzsko Commons #236.
