COVID Safety Protocols

We use standard COVID-19 screening measures to help ensure the health and safety of all visitors, guests, students and staff.

Please be sure to read the following guidelines closely.

On-campus Group Visits will be held Monday-Friday at 9am, 1pm and 3pm each day, plus 5pm on Thursdays.

An on-campus visit will last about two hours and will include:

  • an Admissions presentation
  • a brief Housing & Residence Life information session
  • a guided campus tour

Each registered student is limited to 2 supporter. All visitors (student and supporter) must be at least 16 years old.

Each visitor must have a reservation – no walk-ins will be allowed – as each visit session will be limited to a maximum of 18 guests per session.

There will be only one way to enter the Admissions Office and one way to exit.

Visits and tours could be impacted by a color coded safety-level system (PDF) that aligns with the university's campus safety-level color coded system.

Access to residence halls and other buildings on campus may be limited during tours due to changes in safety levels. If access is limited, visitors will be provided a "virtual" look at those areas.

Health Screening & Check-In Process

On the day of your scheduled visit, check-in will be in the first-floor lobby of Maxwell Hall, near the Admissions Office.

All visitors will need to complete the Daily Self-Assessment on the date of their visit prior to checking in and be prepared to share the results of the screening at check-in.

A face mask is required for our on-campus visit, both in our buildings and on tour. You can read more about Winona State University's Mask Policy.

If you are not willing or able to wear a mask, you will not be allowed into the Admissions office or presentation.

Instead, you will be provided with a link to our virtual presentation and given a map to use for a self-guided tour.

All visitors should follow the recommended COVID-19 healthy practices while on campus.

Wash Your Hands Often

Hand sanitizer stations will be available around campus.

Practice Social Distancing

Keep at least 6 feet between yourself and others. There will be appropriate markings placed in the Admissions Office and throughout campus to help you maintain your distance.

Wear a Mask

Please bring a face mask with you. If you don't have a mask, one will be provided to you.

Cover Your Cough and Sneezes

Cover both your nose and mouth with a tissue or your elbow when you cough or sneeze.

If you know that you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus within 14 days of your scheduled visit, please do do not come to campus.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, please do not come to campus:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

Thank you in advance for following these safety guidelines.

We cannot wait to share our beautiful campus with you.
