Norwegian Heritage and Acclaimed Theater in the Midwest's Best Small Arts Town

Velkommen! You’ve arrived in historic Lanesboro, Minnesota, a little city with a big reputation as the premier small-town arts and culture destination in the Midwest. See two plays, in 2015 - Romeo & Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing (plays change every year), performed by professionals from the Great River Shakespeare Festival. Enhance your theater experience by discussing the production approach and exploring the directing, design and acting functions. The expertise, enthusiasm and energy of the instructors will add greatly to your enjoyment of the program. You will attend both plays as well as participate in some of the special events in conjunction with the festival. The Stories It Can Tell

Come to Winona, MN, on the shores of the mighty Mississippi for a one-of-a-kind experience on board Winona State University's floating classroom. Spend two full days on the river aboard this 45-passsenger, state-of-the-art vessel equipped with electronic equipment, classroom space and upper and lower decks. You'll gain fascinating insights from local experts into the historical, ecological recreational and economic significance of this storied American waterway while enjoying the gorgeous scenery provided by the river bluffs of southeastern Minnesota.
