Library Services During COVID-19 Closure

Due to growing concerns related to COVID-19, and for the ultimate concern for our patrons and staff Krueger Library will only be open to Winona State students, faculty and staff. To access the library you will need your Winona State ID to scan at the keycard reader at the library doors nearest Caribou and Einstein's.

You can find our current hours online and on the Library Services COVID-19 Guide. We will continually reassess the situation moving forward. Patrons are encouraged to check the website, guide, and social media for updates.

Library Services

Acquisitions & Collections

Librarians work with academic departments to plan, build, and review the library’s physical collections and databases to ensure curricular needs are fulfilled.

Book a Room

There are 24 rooms around the library designed for private group study. Review the study room policies before booking a room.

Borrow & Renew

Check out books and videos, pick up interlibrary loans and reserve items, and renew books in person at the Front Desk of the library. You will need your WSU ID, a card from another MnPALS library, or a courtesy card.

Course Reserves

Reserve materials are items that WSU instructors have set aside for short-term loans to students in their classes. Most reserve items are for use in the library only and have a two-hour checkout period.

Distance Education

Krueger Library provides library services to students who attend WSU courses from off campus.

For Faculty and Staff

Connect with the library to provide research materials for your students, collaborate with a liaison librarian to teach research skills, or set up an appointment to learn techniques to take your own research to the next level.

Interlibrary Loan

Request books and articles from other libraries if Krueger Library does not own the book or have access to the article in print or online.

Library Instruction

Librarians teach students about the library, how to select research tools, evaluate sources, and other essential research skills. In collaboration with faculty, librarians can also design library instruction or research education based on the needs of the students and the expectations for the course. Library instruction typically occurs in the library, but librarians can come to your classroom.

Library Technology

Krueger Library has printers located on each floor of the library for students, a public printer on the first floor, and two different types of scanners. Computer equipment is available for checkout at the Front Desk for WSU students, faculty, and staff.

Microfilm Request Service

The WSU Krueger Library offers on-demand access to its microform collection. Our microfilm collection is in storage. We provide retrieval access to the entire microfilm reel or microform for you to view on our microform readers in the library. We also provide a scanning service through which we scan a microfilm article or document and email it to you. Please use our Microform Online Request Form for a microform scanning request.

Periodical Article Scanning Requests

The library provides a scanning service for our bound periodicals. Please use our Request a Print Periodical Article Form for this service. Your second option is to come to the library and find the article in our bound Periodical section. You can scan it in the library with our Book Scanner machine or take photos of the pages with your smartphone.

Research Help

Consult with a librarian at the reference desk for answers to research questions, or make an appointment with a specific librarian for help in a particular area. Each academic department has a librarian who can provide specialty research assistance.
