Next Steps

Once you’ve been accepted into the Graduate Studies program and your degree program, here are some next steps to prepare yourself for the coming semester.

1

Activate Your StarID

StarID is a main way students access online services at WSU. If you do not already have a StarID from another Minnesota State institution, you will need to activate your StarID.

2

Connect to WSU Email & eServices

Check your personal email for instructions on how to set up your student email and information about the eWarrior laptop program.

You should also try logging into your eServices portal with your StarID. eServices is where you will access things like:

  • course registration
  • grades and transcripts
  • financial aid awards
  • tuition statements and payment options
3

Apply for Financial Aid

Well before the semester starts, you should apply for financial aid which includes completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Also, consider whether you wish to apply for any graduate assistantships or other on-campus employment.

Resources to help you figure out how to pay for college are available. You can also contact financial aid advisors if you have questions.
