Graduate Admission Policies 

Find details about WSU’s School of Graduate Studies admissions policies.

Many of our graduate programs require 2 applications. 

First, you must apply to WSU’s School of Graduate Studies. This general application creates your student record at Winona State, which is needed to notify departments that you’re interested in their program.

Once that application is approved, you may apply to your specific program of choice. Check with your graduate program for the admissions process.

Department Admission

For many of the graduate programs you are applying to, you will have 2 applications. 

Once admissions to WSU School of Graduate Studies is granted, applications will be forwarded to the appropriate department for review.

Most department have additional applications requirements. Check your specific program’s page to determine additional criteria such as a higher GPA, test scores, references, etc.

Once you submit all required program admission materials, the faculty will evaluate your application and notify you of your status. 

Coursework must begin within 2 years after admission to a graduate degree program or you must reapply and submit all new official transcripts.
